Information to our Patients about the Coronavirus (COVID-19

In light of the Coronavirus outbreak, we highly encourage our patients to take simple steps to protect themselves from the potential infection by washing hands frequently with soap and water for at least 20 seconds or using hand sanitizer if washing your hands is not an option. Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue and then throw it in the trash. Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands and stay home when you are sick. You can refer to the guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) for more steps to possible prevention at:  https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/about/steps-when-sick.html .

Unfortunately, at this time we know very little about the virus.  Therefore, to err on the side of caution, we discourage our patients who are undergoing fertility treatments or who are currently pregnant, from engaging in non-essential travel to known areas of infection or coming into contact with potentially infected individuals.  For the most current information about the Coronavirus, please visit https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/index.html. For more information regarding fertility treatment and its risks specifically, please contact your physician at the Fertility Institute of Hawaii 808-545-2800.
