On April 26th, 2021 Drs. John L. Frattarelli, Anatte Karmon, and Emily Goulet hosted a Facebook Live Session about their Reflections on National Infertility Awareness Week, which was April 18 – 24, 2021.
Did you know that 1 in 8 couples experience infertility? During this session, the doctors answered questions explaining what is infertility, highlighted the causes, treatments, and encouraged patients to seek help in understanding their reproductive health.
Infertility is generally defined as a medical condition that impairs a couples’ ability to achieve a pregnancy after 6 months to 1 year of unprotected intercourse. Infertility can affect both male and female partners and is also caused by factors such as: hormonal changes, unhealthy habits (alcohol, smoking, and anabolic steroid use for example), and/or medical disorders.
