Erina joined the team at The Fertility Institute of Hawaii as a senior embryologist in 2021. She earned her Bachelor of Animal Science degree in animal reproduction from Kitasato University School of Veterinary Medicine and Master of Assisted reproductive technology degree in Clinical Embryology from the International University of Health and Welfare graduate school in Japan.
She began her career in 2014 in Tokyo, Japan where she performed Andrology and Embryology services related to In Vitro Fertilization such as: sperm preparation and cryopreservation, embryo culture, transfer and vitrification, laser-assisted hatching, Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection (ICSI) and Piezo-ICSI (piezoelectricity ICSI), oocyte vitrification and warming as well as ovary vitrification and Thawing, and IVA (In Vitro Activation of Ovarian Follicles). Since joining FIH, she has gained experience in trophectoderm biopsy for Preimplantation Genetic Testing/Diagnosis.
